Dr. Elizabeth Abato
Dr. Elizabeth Abato was born and raised in sunny Southern California. She obtained her B.S. in Biology at the University of California, San Diego. She then moved to Florida and obtained her veterinary degree at The University of Florida. After veterinary school she completed a one year small animal medicine and surgery internship at Veterinary Referral Associates in Maryland. It was then that she found her passion for emergency medicine and stayed on to complete another one year emergency and critical care internship.
Dr. Abato fell in love with the seasons and history of the Mid-Atlantic region and decided to stay in the area after completion of her internships. She has worked at several 24/7 Emergency and Critical Care hospitals in the Northern VA area since and is excited to join the Urgent Animal Care of Arlington team. Her professional interests include feline obstructive uropathies and endocrine emergencies.
Dr. Abato and her husband have two children along with a loving and energetic Lab Mix which they adopted in 2015 from a local rescue group. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family, going hiking and watching college football (Go Gators and Go Blue!!).
